Albany Preview Tuesday December 1st

Albany's second meeting of the season provides a Seven race card with some good even fields which will produce some good betting races. The WA Country Builders Sprint over 1200m brings together an excellent field of eight runners, where a case can be made for the majority of the starters.

Late Showers 23°C

Race One: Dinglish ran a fair race at Mt Barker on a slow track, and before that was a nice run at Pinjarra. Key To Target has been placed once in seven starts, and pay to overlook last run. King Point has looked promising at trials and makes debut here. Major Bligh resumes after two race starts where both runs were fair. Designer Diva was a good run first up and is never far away this company. Glowing Vain resumes here and raced very well fresh last season without winning. It'll Be Sweet was a good first up third at Mt Barker, wipe her last run on a slow track. Lady Lavenham trialled well before failing first up straight 1000m at Pinjarra. Pay to forget that run.

Race Two: Pulashaky was a good effort first up and now at a suitable distance where he raced well at last season. Eternal Advice showed promise last season and very good first up over 1400m. November Red has had chances and just a run at Mt Barker but slow track may be an excuse. My Equine Friend was a good effort first up, then had nightmare run next start but was not disgraced. Drawn wide again. Midnight Touch was a fair effort last start and well drawn here.

Race Three: Carbineer looked unlucky first up when held up and ran on well late. Tidal Storm yet to show his best form in two starts back, and can do better. Titcherman raced well fresh at Mt Barker and always a chance in this type of race. Secret Courier raced wide when good run at Albany then easy winner at Mt barker on a slow track. In form. Weekly Express pay to overlook start in city and go on good first up win when ridden well. Watsons Bay was an  good winner in lesser company when racing first up. Has won this class before. Week Bix resumes here, went through classes last season but found open class a bit harder.

Race Four:  All Class comes back in grade but up in weights here, but with a 1.5kg claim looks very hard to beat. Jolanta Start has not shown up in two runs back but better suited this company. Spirited Rocket was a good run first up at Ascot when only beaten 3 lengths. Movie World was a solid winner first up, but steps up in class here. Don't Tell Toby will be suited at the trip after two runs back from a spell. Capel Time was disappointing at Mt Barker after fair Mid week city form. St Peregrine was a solid effort first up but this is harder.

Race Five: The Tax Man back in class and but up in weight after a good first up effort, gets 1.5kg claim here. Radio Pleasure not much luck first up but this may be too short. Evil Force was a fair effort at Mt Barker first up and will strip much fitter here. Pwakkers Back has returned to old form and was a Narrogin winner last week. Comandeer likely to improve on fair first up effort at Albany. Just Sue resumes after struggling at Kalgoorlie through the winter.

Race Six: Chaddie was doing best work at finish first up but drawn awkward here. Cherpara was a good Maiden winner first up and nicely placed here. Briello caught the eye at debut when running on powerfully. Looks promising. Jeneviv at two runs back has been right in the mix and has claims again here. Stockmans Dream trialled well recently and ideally drawn here and suited. Ridgewood Starlight caught the eye first up at Mt Barker and not without claims.

Race Seven: All Spots was a comfortable winner first up in milder company. Stormyglow was pipped on the post first up at Mt Barker and strong claims here. Trochee was not far away first up for 30 months. Will keep improving. Canny Besain was an easy winner first up in mild company. Drawn wide but should be respected. Not So Secret was a Northam winner last preparation and resumes here. Kimberleys resumes here and races well this track.

Esperance Review Saturday November 27th with Ryan Levitzke

Trainer Brendan Corver and Willie Arnold picked up where they left off last season, with a stable treble to open the Esperance Bay Turf Club season last Saturday.

They were off on their winning ways in the first event (B. Wilson and C. Murray Memorial Maiden) with debutant Trida Brando. The son of Stormy’s Son capitalised on a pie ride in transit. Racoff, carrying 52kg set a brisk tempo before being overhauled in the shadows of the post and Competitive Street battled on well to hold third. Newcomer and favourite Ella Rose didn’t look suited by the fast speed and could only manage a fourth.

The J. Mathews and F. Conway Memorial Maiden was staged over 1200m and local trainer Jeff Eeles reigned supreme, winning with Ron’s Gem. Ron’s Gem is out of Ron’s Wish, a mare Eeles also prepared and tasted plenty of success with. The Mark Nelson trained Gotanygoss jumped well and was prominent throughout before finishing second by half a head. The Key Cutter, who set the speed finished a close up third and was 5.50 lengths clear of the others.

The third race was a Country Challenge Heat called the D. Plunkett and D.Banner Memorial Handicap and Donargy provided Willie Arnold and Brendan Corver with an early double. The six year old had switched trainers during the off season and after a good jump won easily by more than a length. His time (1.10.58) was just over a second outside of the track record held by Esperance ‘great’ William’s Steal. The Sally Roworth prepared Arcade Attraction was gallant in defeat and the Mt. Barker trained Billyaintsilly worked home well to finish third. Ten year old Birkhall drifted well back but hit the line powerfully to claim fourth.

Race Four was the Paul Sullivan Memorial (1100m) and local Tashi Delek led throughout in a slick 1.04.26. The Jo-Anne Leeson trained Busterbell finished strongly to get within a length and favourite Stormy Quest ran third. Publican’s Horse caught the eye after missing the kick to fill fourth position. The Horizon Power Sprint was over 1100m and Jay Dee Rocks provided Garry Price and Kiryn Waldeck with their first winner of the season. He enjoyed a fair pull in the weights (52kg) over the main fancies He’s Smokin’ (62.5kg), King Of The Stalls (59kg) and Expedition (58.5kg) and proved too slippery. Dancing Granada was ridden forward and was the runner up with stable mate Expedition grabbing third.

The Bow Brothers Memorial was the last race and run over 1300m. Lady Berthe, trained by Brendan Corver and ridden by Willie Arnold powered home to beat Mr. Magnificent. The winner’s stablemate Damon’s Halo filled third position. Parkside set the pace and only weakened the last little bit, this gelding will benefit greatly from the hitout. Ten gallopers went around in a barrier trial after the last so expect slightly bigger fields at the next meeting which is scheduled for Saturday December 12.

Horses to follow ; Racoff, Competitive Street, Gotanygoss, Donargy, Publicans Horse, Jay Dee Rocks and Parkside.

Esperance Preview - Saturday 21st November (Updated with Selections)

The opening meeting of the Esperance Bay Turf Club will be held this Saturday with a six event card set down on the picturesque track that rates up there with any track in WA.  The club will conduct 10 meetings throughout their season culminating with the $30,000 Esperance Cup meeting on Saturday February 27th.
Local trainers Sally Roworth and Brendan Corver are reported to have big teams in work, and with the likes of trainers Fiona Scott, Helen Harding, Jeff Eeles and Tracey Frizell, the locals will be well represented throughout the season.  Trainer Derek Jones and Jockey Nicole Hopwood return to the Bay Of Isles for the season and will be joined soon by Garry Price who will base at Esperance after doing the Kalgoorlie winter season. Good supporters of Esperance racing, Annette Crump, Jo Leeson and Justin Parsons all have starters at the first meeting along with Mark Nelson, who is building up a good strike rate at the track.

Racing Radio's Ryan Levitzke is on board at Great Southern Racing Blog to cover the Esperance Season with Previews and Reviews and all the latest news.  Here is Ryan's Preview of Saturdays meeting.
25°C  Rail in True Position     Coverage on Racing Radio

The first of a ten meeting season at the Esperance Bay Turf Club gets underway this Saturday afternoon and the first race is scheduled for 2:03pm. As per usual the opening fixture acknowledges contributors to racing in the region with five of the six events being Memorials. With the majority of gallopers resuming and/or debuting at the track finding winners won’t be easy. Last season’s leading rider Wille Arnold has a full book and he will be joined in the jockey’s room by a host of senior hoops and promising apprentices.

The B.Wilson and C. Murray Memorial Maiden (1000m) is the first of sixty one races to be held this season. Trida Brando has impressed at two recent Esperance trials and stable mate Ella Rose has been placed twice in Perth as a two year old. Competitive Street looked a trifle unlucky at Albany on debut and should be included in Trifecta calculations.

The J. Mathews and F. Conway Memorial will be run over 1200m for Maidens. Gotanygoss makes her Esperance debut and wasn’t far away at Albany earlier this month. The Key Cutter wears saddlecloth number one and on November 16 won a 950m trial at Lark Hill in easy fashion. Brave Critic is likely to find 1200m too short after competing in last season’s Esperance Cup and last start placegetters Bluewater Babe and Ron’s Gem are sure to have admirers.

Race Three starts the Quaddie and is called the D. Plunkett and D. Banner Memorial over 1200m. Second Lady will be one of the favourites. She was a runner up 4 times in a row on hard tracks in August/September and resumes for top trainer Fiona Scott. Billyaintsilly battled away well to finish second last start but his strike rate doesn’t inspire. Donargy has switched to the Brendan Corver stable and has shown plenty of talent in recent seasons but she often takes a couple of runs to reach peak fitness.

The Paul Sullivan Memorial is over 1200m and lining up the form will again be difficult. Stormy Quest won a Maiden at Kalgoorlie in July and It’s Nikov did so in May. Both Tashi Delek and Ridgewood Manna are noted frontrunners and Publicans Horse wasn’t beaten far at his last start at Northam.

The $8,500 Horizon Power Sprint (1100m) sees the return of track specialist He’s Smokin’. Shane Gilchrist is booked to take the ride but with 62.5kg is sure to find winning tough. Expedition tasted success on a few occasions last season and King Of The Stalls was never out of a place. Jay Dee Rocks is a speedster with only 54kg and both Key’s Ace and Dancing Granada will be running on. This is probably the most interesting contest of the afternoon.

The Bow Brothers Memorial is over 1300m at 5:18pm and Majestic Range faces a nice drop in class. Parkside broke his Maiden status at Esperance last season and was able to win again at Laverton in September. Interrogator is better known over longer journeys and the likes of Damon’s Halo, Lady Berthe and Mr Magnificent will all be finishing powerfully. It’s fair to say that doing the form for the rest of the season will be a lot easier after Saturday.

Mt Barker Thursday Nov 19th - Review

The Great Southern weather was not kind to the Mt Barker Turf Club, and the meeting was abandonded after 2 races due to safety concerns with the track due to the weather. On the surface the track looked in good knick, but due to a horse slipping badly at the 800m in the first event, and the continual rain that followed, Stewards had no option but to cancel the remaining races, as no guarantee could be made that the ground would hold up safely for a further six races of full fields.

Ironically the same meeting last year with similar weather, lost the last two races due to track concerns in regards to the weather. This would suggest that with the later apparent rains that have been coming to the Great Southern the past few years, that maybe it could be looked at, that Mt Barker commence their racing season in early December, as the track does not have the same absorbtion rate as track like Albany that is more coastal with a different soil content.

It is a great shame the meeting was lost, as most horses in the Great South will almost go upto 4 weeks without a race start, nominations for Narrogin and Esperance coming up could be well boosted.

Secret Courier (P.Hall) Photo courtesy www.grassrootsracingwa.com

On the racing side, promising mare Jeneviv scored a good Maiden victory over Silver Business and Dinglish, with favourite November Red back early and plodding into fourth spot.  The second ,saw Secret Courier prove too good for Titcherman and Tidal Storm who has yet to return to his previous good form. Old timer He's Smokin was not disgraced in finishing 4th (and last), and looked well in need of the run in his first outing for 18 months.

Mt Barker Preview - Thursday November 19th.

Possible Thunderstorm 16°C     RAIL: True, 2m (1000m-600m)

A big eight event card is set down for this Thursday at Mt Barker with capacity fields in all races with the exception of the Open Sprint which continues on with the trend of small fields in the higher rated races in the Great Southern.  Leading Jockey, Jason Whiting who is currently 31st overall in Australia on stakemoney earned in the past 12 months will make a rare appearance on the Great Southern circuit. Leading South West trainer Peter Giadresco also makes a regular trip to a happy hunting ground for him.

Race One:  Very open Maiden to commence the day. Silver Business was an even run last start, and has good prospects though back 100m in distance. Pulashaky was a fair third first up and will appreciate the extra ground. November Red was placed twice at Albany last season, and a fair effort at Bunbury first up. Stablemate Dinglish raced on the pace when close up at Pinjarra and is well drawn here. Key To Target ran its best race in six starts last start, but is badly drawn here. Jeneviv just got beaten in a tight finish first up. The 1300m looks to suit here but is drawn awkwardly. It'll Be Sweet was doing best work at finish when first up over 1000m. Missy Lara impressed at debut when making ground late, but again has drawn wide. Shovely looked good in a Albany trial, but then unplaced in most recent 1000m trial.

Race  Two: Small field, but very interesting race.  He's Smokin returns after a long injury enforced lay off, and may just need this run to be back at peak. Tidal Storm had a hard run first up and expect big improvement. Secret Courier did not get any favours in the run last start and battled on well. Watson's Bay steps up in class but down in weight after easy winning in lesser company first up. Titcherman resumes and will be doing his best work at the finish.

Race Three: Not a lot of exposed form here in a very open Maiden. Designer Diva was a solid effort first up and is close to a win. Cognac Blue was a solid effort at her debut over the straight 1000m at Pinjarra and drops in class here. Glowing Vain raced well last season when fresh and was knocking on the door to break through. Dainty's Fury again has not fared well at the barrier, but was a top effort last start when just beaten out of a place after leading. Cheval Rose resumes after a fair effort at second start 12 months ago. Adams Time makes debut and trialled nicely at Albany last week.

Race Four:  Lining up the form in this race is difficult, and finding the winner should come at reasonable odds. Trochee was a nice effort first up after a long break, but has drawn the highway here. Mr Magnificent was alot better second up when running on, but was along way from the winner. Cervino raced in stronger company last campaign and resumes here and likely to go back from wide draw. Raunchy Business won well first up and was not far away when placed last start over 1500m. Rhapsodie Heights was an easy Collie winner last outing and has shown ability. Tangram will improve on late finishing 4th first up this track, and will go close. Aknightus should get a good run from an inside draw. Look for Deed I Do to improve on first up effort at Pinjarra. Royalistic & The Might Boosh will strip fitter second up but meet a solid field.

Race Five: Another strong race for form. Stormyglow had race won everywhere but on line first up and meets the winner Well Adjusted 1.5kg better at the weights, and will have strong prospects again. Canny Besain won easy first up in much weaker company, but capable of going on with it. Not So Secret resumes from an awkward draw, with best form over more ground. Ozcapades was not far away first up at Bunbury and is capable. Royal Mount was close up at Pinjarra last outing, but drawn wide here. Cummings put in a much better effort second up, but stronger field here. Westen Navajo was a good effort first up, drawn badly again but can surprise if can get across.

Race Six:  Jolanta Star is the best performed horse in the field, and gets a 4kg claim but loses experience in the saddle with apprentice Alex Lawrence taking his fourth race ride. Timely Reign will have improved on moderate first up effort. Billyaintsilly put in best effort for sometime last start but this is harder. Spirited Rocket is second up after good effort Ascot Mid Week. Form last campaign was consistent. The Tax Man was a nice effort first up and is unbeaten at this track. Sir Onan was  a fair effort first up, this trip will suit better. Radio Pleasure & Late Change both lucked out last start and pay to overlook both runs. Commandeer was not far away first up, but meets stronger company here and drawn badly.

Race Seven: Evil Force needed the run first up and will strip much fitter here from a good draw. Spitfighter mixes his form, but is very capable, and has prospects. Pwakkers Back was gallant first up and better suited this trip but drawn wide. Magic of Silver races forward but will need to overcome bad draw. Mullah Bay is never faraway this company. Marshall Jensen trialled well at Albany last week.

Race Eight: Briello was ultra impressive at debut and can be prominent again though up in class. Cherpara won easily first up, but will find this tougher, but is capable. Russian To Win was placed here last start, but won't find this any easier. Stockmans Dream impressed in a recent trial and has claims though drawn badly. Zarisk resumes and has been consistent this grade previous. Fullglas and Irish Target both resume after winning Maiden last season, but overall form only fair.  Doc Marshall and It's Nikov race fresh for new stables. If Ridgewood Starlight gains a start comes right into this race.

Albany Sunday November 8th - Review

The opening meeting of the Albany Race Club was held on Sunday, with keen racing on the seven event card, where the runners had to contend with a strong head wind in the straight. Former Victorian Jockey David Chipman again booted home a double for the strong Steve Wolfe stable, and last seasons leading Jockey Shaun Meeres also rode a double.

Race One: Trainer Dixie Solly and Apprentice Talia Maor continued on their great association when Weekly Express was ridden to perfection to open the days racing. Weekly Express took the lead at the 200m and held off a late charge from Carbineer, who was held up at a cruicial stage, with Secret Courier close up third. Well backed Tidal Storm had a hard run outside the leader and faded , whilst The Tax Man was a nice effort first up.

Race Two: Movie World went out a clear cut favourite and quickly went to the lead on straightening, but Shaun Meeres had to get to work on her racing into the headwind, but in the end won comfortably over Billyaintsilly and Commandeer. Movie World will be looking for more ground at her next start. Radio Pleasure was a good run first up and didn't have a lot of luck, whilst Trochee will improve after his first run in over 2 years.

Apprentice Alex Lawrence get's ready for his first race ride.

Race Three: Enigmatic galloper Carrallen Steel put his best foot forward when coming from last on the turn to just beat St Peregrine, who was a big improvement on his first up run. Favourite Raunchy Business moved up to challenge at the 200m, and had every chance in the straight.

Race Four: A good ride from Takhide Ikenushi paved the way for Boundary Street to win nicely over Eternal Advice who finished on well from the near the rear on the corner. Boundary Street sat just behind the leaders and took the lead on straightening. Silver Business battled away fairly, and Midnight Touch was not too far away. Favourite My Equine Friend did not get any favours in the run, and was not disgraced in finishing 5th.

Race Five: In a thrilling finish debutant Briello, who was worse than mid field on the corner, was weaved through the field by Jockey David Chipman to snatch victory in the last two strides. Favourite Jeneviv, grabbed second but took awhile to wind up and was just getting into top gear near the line. Designer Diva ran an honest race, with Dainty's Fury and Octane Molly close up. Money came for Competitive Street who finished just behind the placegetters, with stablemate Gotanygoss.

Race Six: All Spots, though racing outside the leader, proved too good and came away to win easily over leader Cummings who battled on well, with Mr Magnificent doing his best work at the finish. The Mighty Boosh finished fourth but never looked a winning chance after having a good run in transit.

All Spots (Kyra Yuill)

Race Seven: Canny Besain always travelled well in the run and raced away to win easily from Maiden Key To Target and Chaddie who ran on well. Favourite Tiga Romano was under pressure at the 250m and battled away, but will now more than likely go for a spell. Texas To Maine missed the kick badly and was coming home late to just miss the placings.

The Shaun Meeres Fan Club HQ

Trials:  Heat 1 1000m: Lady Lavenham continued on with her good trial form with a solid win by 5 1/4 lengths in 59.05. Adams Time and Glowing Vain filled the placings.
Heat 2 1000m: Noble Steed was classes above his opponents and won accordingly by 10 1/2 lengths in 58.85 with Chilli Mussels and Secula heading the remainder.
Heat 3 600m: Stockmans Dream came away to win from All Class who was doing its best work at the finish, by 1/2 length in 34.66.
Heat 4 600m : He's Smokin is close to resuming after a win here by a length over King Point who trialled well again in 34.79. Close up in the finish were Laurie's Dream and Marshall Jensan.

Albany Sunday November 8th - Preview & Tips

Maximum 21°C
Minimum  12°C      RAIL  -  True Postion

The Albany season opens this Sunday, with a Seven event card commencing at 12.45pm. Though not many capacity fields, there is some very interesting and open races on the program.

Race One: Though only six runners, a case can almost be given for every starter. Top weight Carbineer dominated this class last season, and got home nicely in a recent trial. He has yet to win first up and is untried at this trip. Tidal Storm is a prolific winner at this track and distance and though now eight, always races well fresh. Weekly Express is another that comes to hand quickly, has a good record at the distance, but yet to win first up. Secret Courier is one of few travelling horses to the meeting and has race fitness on his side. The Tax Man won his way through the classes last season, and has won at only two starts at this distance.

Race Two: Movie World was very impressive last season over more ground, however was a first up winner at this trip last preperation, and trialled well recentley. Late Change looked a little disappointing at Mt Barker but will improve greatly on that first up effort. Commandeer, will have the service of debutant apprentice Alex Lawrence. The eight year old should never be discounted in this company. Trochee has not raced for 30 months, but got to the line well in a recent trial. Look Here Trousers is another who is never too faraway in this company.

Race Three:  Having a 1500m race at the opening meeting was never going to attract a big field, but an interesting race all the same. Don'Tell Toby has a run under his belt, albeit a distant third over 1200m, this distance will suit better. Masters Seal has run two good races back from a spell and has won at 1600m, so looks well placed here. Raunchy Business raced well fresh at Mt Barker last week and is a winner at this trip. Carallen Steel never looked likely first up, but should be an improver here stepping up 300m. Ruberian is suited at the trip, but races first up without appearing at trials.

Race Four: Interesting Maiden field. Silver Business has been disappointing in stronger company this campaign, but did run 2nd to Loyalty at Ascot earlier this year. Is race hard for this. Eternal Advice was honest in this company last season and resumes here. My Equine Friend was doing it's best work at the finish at Mt Barker and the extra 200m will suit. Midnight Touch has had two runs back from a spell but will need to do better. Boundary Street has been placed at this trip twice in six race starts. Meclang caught the eye late when finishing fast over 1000m at Mt Barker.

Race Five: Briello looked good in winning a 600m trial at Albany recentley and makes debut here from a good gate. Competitive Street was just that, late last season with three placings from last four runs. Designer Diva was never far away late last campaign but yet to win in fourteen starts. Jeveviv, showed potential last season, and was impressive at recent Albany trials. Dainty's Fury recent form suggests that it will be in the mix here, though drawn wide. Octane Molly was not disgraced at her Mt Barker debut, whilst Carry The Banner is capable of running well after two starts last season.

Race Six:### LATE SCRATCHING - She's A Saint. ### All Spots was consistent this company last season, but yet to be placed when racing first up. She's A Saint looked ready, when placed in a strong trial recentley and looks well placed here. The Mighty Boosh has not won for over two years but never faraway this company. Mr Magnificent should improve on his Mt Barker effort. The Keillor Kid races best when fresh and likes this trip. Art Of Love steps up in class after winning at Collie.

Race Seven: Tiga Romano has shown ability at limited starts and looked good winning at Mt Barker. Chaddie showed good improvement last season and can be in the mix. Disco Reveller was not disgraced first up in WA at Mt Barker and is capable of surprising. Marooned Flirt raced well fresh last season but dropped away quickly. Canny Besain was disappointing last season, but trialled well at Albany.

Mt Barker Review from Sunday Nov 1st

Watsons Bay (D.Chipman) wins at Mt Barker

Even though the weather was on the cold side, a big crowd attended the opening meeting of the season. The track looked in excellent conditions and winners came from all parts, with no sign of a track bias.

Race 1: Cherpara started at good odds at the track, but was heavily backed late on the tote, and never gave his backers a worry coming away for a comfortable win over CarmineMadonna who ran a nice race with It'll Be Sweet doing its best work at the end to run third. Meclang also ran on fairly, but not but much more could be said for the beaten division. Jockey Willie Arnold would not have looked out of place at the Boyup rodeo after his mount Ellofagale began well but then put in a few good short ones before Willie hit the deck. Fortunatley he was uninjured and bounced back well later in the day with a double.

Race 2:  Small field, and Watson's Bay jumped to the front, dictated terms and the race was all over. Timely Reign finished second, but never looked a winning hope at any stage. Don't Tell Toby battled away to finish a distant third

Rcae 3: An agressive ride from Alan Kennedy paved the way for Tiga Romano to break her Maiden status. Kennedy took Tiga Romano to the lead on the corner and held too many guns for the other fancy My Equine Friend who finished well,  Pulashaky battled on well to finish third and should break his winning duck soon. Missy Lara at her debut finished the race off well and is sure to continue to improve.

Race 4: From last on the corner race hard Ravinsky swooped to win well here for Willie Arnold over Magic Of Silver who led. Evil Force battled on well to run third after looking to have had enough 200m out, and should strip fitter next start. Sir Onan was doing his best work late, whilst favourite Late Change looked disappointing.

Race 5: A good ride by David Chipman saw the grey Raunchy Business race on the pace and come away for a solid win over Master's Seal who had the run of the race behind the leaders and battled on well. Pwakkers Back led and set a solid pace and held on for third. Tangram was not far away and will improve on the run. Western Navajo went forward from a wide draw and a battled on well. Favourite Capel Time got back early and was never a winning chance.

Race 6: Narrogin trainer Shane Harcourt rounded out the meeting with a long priced double when Well Adjusted came late to nail Stormyglow on the line by a nose. Stormyglow kicked clear at the 150m and just failed to hold on. Russian To Win had every chance and held third from Ridgewood Starlight who came from last on the turn. Favourite Solo Dante got lost in traffic just before the turn and failed to run on.
