Albany Preview - December 26th (CR)

Albanys biggest race day, bar Albany Cup day comes up on Boxing Day with a huge crowd expected on course in the festive spirit. An even seven race card is set down with some open races and a couple of races where on paper the winner looks to stand out. The meeting has TAB coverage but not Sky Channel.

Race One: Only a small field and Sir Clase looks a class above his opponents. Got home nicely over 1300m after a let up and distance here suits. Weekly Express untried this trip and latest runs have been disappointing. Belarus has not won for sometime, but much better effort last start. Ruberian has struggled in weaker company but likes this trip. Timely Reign moderate form at three runs back but better suited this journey.

Race Two: Lauries Dream has been knocking on the door, this trip will suit after five placings in eleven starts. Pulashaky very consistent this company and step up to 1500m will be to advantage. NJazzy Saint was a good effort first up at Mt Barker and can continue to improve. Disrupt not far away first up at Mt barker and has claims. Miss Strickland never likely at Mt Barker for new trainer but much better suited this trip. Competitive Street placed last two at Esperance and steps up 400m in distance here. Placed five of nine starts.

 Race Three: Albanyorascot resumes here, has good first up record and placed three of seven starts.  Born To Be Bad yet to be placed in eight starts but good effort Pinjarra last start. Glowing Vain never stied first up , but previous form this company fair. Gotanygoss placed at Esperance two starts back this distance. Hope To Speed slow away at Mt Barker made some ground in the straight. Royal Escapade placed at Geraldton three runs back overall form is moderate. It’ll Be Sweet much better effort at Esperance last start. Nicely drawn here.

 Race Four: Mctease won 1500m Maiden last season, second up here but may be a bit short. Irish Target followed good first up run with moderate effort Mt Barker. Back in distance here may not suit. Russian To Win form since Mt Barker placing not encouraging, but this a very weak field. Myth N Mystery had no luck first up at Mt Barker and will prove hard to beat here.

 Race Five: Attadale is back in class but up in weight. Has not won for sometime but has prospects. Billyaintsilly followed win with distant placing at Mt Barker. Similar claims again. Evil Force had no luck last start when raced wide after good win at previous start. Up a grade but a promising type. Punk’d produced best run in WA last start and is close to a win. Saramento was a good effort first up at Mt Barker. Up in class but very consistent type. Cummings placed here two runs back then not disgraced in strong field Esperance last outing. Look Here Trousers unplaced after good run at Albany two runs back. Hard to follow.

 Race Six: Radio Pleasure has been in great form this season and very good winner Mt Barker last start. This trip should suit even better. Sir Onan yet to show up in three runs back, but drops in class here. About Class resumes after North West campaign. Won a couple here last season. Racso had hard run first up then good effort at Mt Barker last outing. All Spots terrorized in front last start and battled on well, had no luck at previous run when saddle slipped. Capable but drawn wide. Our Calendar Girl not sighted last start but has been looking for ground. Commandeer led and a fought on well last start. Suited here. Megablitz was a very good effort first up. Need to reproduce that run again. The Mighty Boosh is never far away but finds winning very hard.

Race Seven: Alsaah Warrior resumes here after winning at 1600m last season. Hard task first up. Late Change yet to show up this campaign and would need to get back to past form. Royalistic has shown fair form at three runs back and this trip will suit better. Trochee very good run two starts back, then caught wide last start. Better placed here. Canny Besain no luck with barriers since winning first up. Capable of improving here. Chaddie not far away at last few and place claims here. Disco reveler raced wide last start and battled on well. Need to reproduce that effort.  Raunchy Business won four starts back, this trip will suit.
