Albany Review - Saturday December 26th

The Boxing Day meeting looked like it was turning into Jockey Link Robertsons personal nightmare, before redemption in the last. Robertson who had the pick of some good rides, went down on the first two favourites, when they had no answer when challenged, then saw one of his regular rides The Mighty Boosh win, before he steered home Royalistic to a good win in the final event.

Myth N Mystery (Kyra Yuill)

Race One: Small fields seem to at times bring the undoing of favourites and this race was no exception with the well backed Timely Reign far too good for the favourite Sir Clase, with Ruberian a distant third.

Race Two: Jockey Noel Rudland booted home an early double when Jazzy Saint came away to win well for new trainer Holly Elmis. Honest Pulashaky again finished in the money with Shovely finishing well to just get third from favourite Laurie’s Dream who was under pressure shortly after straightening.

Race Three: With a solid pace in front, the backmarkers got home late with Gotanygoss just getting the verdict over Albanyorascot (who was slow away) after both came from the rear on the turn.  Glowing Vain also came from well back along the inside to grab third. Lukaston battled on well to finish fourth. Well backed favourite Born To Be Bad was caught wide and had a torrid run.

Race Four: Well backed favourite Myth N Mystery scored an easy win in a moderate field over Irish Target who ran on nicely, with Mctease an improved effort finishing third.

Punk'd (Kelly Davison)

Race Five: Punk’d who put the writing on the wall last start, proved too good with a solid win over the ever consistent Saramento. Attadale carrying top weight of 60kg ran his best race for sometime back third. Promising youngster Evil Force settled well but was under pressure shortly after straightening and plugged away to run fourth.

Race Six: The Mighty Boosh broke a long run of outs when apprentice Yannick Valenti rode a copybook race to get the nine year old home. Sir Onan finished on well to grab second over Megablitz who battled away. Commandeer looked to have every chance and was just behind the placegetters. In form Radio Pleasure was under pressure after straightening and was one of the first to look beaten.

Race Seven: Royalistic won the last in a canter after quickly rounding up the leaders 200m out and holding Trochee at bay to the line. Maiden Jordi set a good pace in front and did well to hold on for third. Chaddie made ground to be a fair fourth, with Canny Besain missing the money after having a good run.
