Mt Barker Preview Thursday 17th December.

A seven event card at Mt Barker this Thursday sees a very competitive field line up in the Albany Advertiser Sprint over 1300m. Carbineer heads the weights for astute trainer Max Hockey but will benefit from apprentice Kyra Yuill's claim of 2.0kg and carry 58kg. Week Bix will have his second start back from a spell and regular rider Shaun Meeres replaces Paul King. The Steve Wolfe trained Lovely Lucy resumes from a short let but will have to contend with a wide gate, but has the services of inform Jockey, Shaun McGruddy. Jockey Peter Hall who's last outing in the Great South resulted in three rides for three wins has taken only two mounts, on last start winners Billyaintsilly and Evil Force.

Race One: Former NSW galloper Via Delfino was unplaced in first two WA starts in the North, resumes here for Esperance trainer Sally Roworth and was placed in recent trial. Dark N Stormy was doing best work at finish when distant third last start and can keep improving. Dan Falbrav yet to be placed in seven starts, but trialled well recentley. Lizzard Drinking not disgraced at only start in city, ran handy trial last week. Byzantimes resumes, Pinjarra placed six starts back, overall form only fair though. Daintysfury showed pace but run down when second last start. Is knocking on the door. Miss Cibola placed twice in five starts, placed at Pinjarra two runs back.

Race Two: Pulashaky consistent this company, good effort last start, but back 200m here may not suit. Jazzy Saint resumes here, placing at Kalgoorlie was only cheque in nine starts. Bonds Lane put in a solid effort here last week when placed and strong prospects here. From The Fire was an improved effort not far away last start, but yet to be placed in five starts. Miss Strickland comes back in distance here on last start but has shown some ability in limited starts. Carry The Banner was a fair effort at fourth race start and ready to start producing good form. Mcflirts Delight has been racing in stronger company and was placed at Pinjarra two starts back. Granblurr makes debut here at the 1300m, and finished on well in a recent trial.

Race Three: Billyaintsilly returned to winners list with all the way win last week. Up a class with big weight again and services of P.Hall. Punk'd not that far away last start and capable of surprising here. Adam's Time unbeaten in two starts and big step in class here, but shows plenty. Dark Thor has not started for over 30 months but won recent 700m trial.  Spitfighter some excuses last start, but would still need to do better after looming up in straight. Blazing Icon is a consistent performer, though does not win many. Won recent Albany trial. Arcade Attraction  was beaten first up by Donargy at Esperance and likely to improve.

Race Four:  All Spots , pay to forget last run from wide draw and go on good first up win at Albany. Marshall Jensen finished mid field first up at Albany, but not beaten by that much. Well Adjusted has not fired in two runs since winning at Mt Barker. Sister Golden Hair suited at this trip and usually sprints well fresh. Stockmans Dream was a good effort first up after missing the kick. Suited this trip from a nice draw. Trimconnection resumes here after some solid efforts last season.

Race Five: I'm Called Earl resumed with a solid win when well ridden. Up in class but has ability. Star Buck showed ability last time in including a Pinjarra win. Won recent 1000m Albany trial. Chaddie was placed first up before fair effort and has place prospects again. Jeneviv races in great form and solid effort last start behind Cherpara. Irish Target caught the eye first up when running on well. May be looking for more ground. Zarisk was a fair effort placed behind Adam's Time first up from a good draw.  Happy Hour Surt only winner of one in twenty two but recent form in stronger company has been encouraging.  Ridgewood Manna improved with a placing here last week.

Race Six: Carbineer not far away at two runs back and this trip will suit. He's Smokin butters up five days after fair effort at Esperance. Tidal Storm failed to flatter in three runs back, may go better for senior rider. Lovely Lucy resumes here after last start win Kalgoorlie. Good first up record. Weekly Express won three starts back, fair effort latest at Albany. Week Bix very good effort first up and though drawn wide has strong prospects. Jolanta Star horribly out of form but drops 6kg here.

Race Seven: Evil Force impressed with last start win at 1200m when racing second up. Up 1.5kg and drawn wide but has ability. Radio Pleasure good honest effort last start after unlucky at first run back. Our Calendar Girl was doing best work at finish last start. Expect similar effort here. Barn Burner is better than most recent form suggest. Will appreciate drop in class here. Trochee game effort when second at Mt Barker last week at same trip. Canny Besain easy winner first up then not far way from wide draw next outing. Bad draw again. Look Here Trousers fair effort first up then ran on strongly placed at Albany next outing. Need to reproduce that run here. The Mighty Boosh not far away at two runs back but has not won for along time. Seymour Kid resumes here and is suited this company. Majestic Range not too far away at third run back and not the worst. Tangram doing best work at finish last start when making good ground. Yet to be placed this track.
