Albany Preview Sunday January 24th

Racing this Sunday returns to Albany with the Annual Legends Day. In attendance to witness the feature race of the day the $15,000 Albany Advertiser Cup will be former Jockeys Bernie Ryan and John Duggan along with many more blasts from the past.


Race One: Lauries Dream has had plenty of chances, and never far away.Distance may suit. Pulashaky eight placings in thirty one starts and very honest. Gets a strong chance here. Eternal Advice around the place this company and this trip should suit. Jordi placed 1600m two starts back but overall form moderate. Rivotio placed last two but looking for ground and this will suit. Jarnac pay to forget last run and go on good effort 1700m at Narrogin. Disrupt not far away over 1675m Bunbury last start. Likely improver. Reflective Image placed Albany 1500m four starts back but form since disappointing.

Race Two: Hard race to line up form. Magic Master placed at Narrogin three runs back, subsequent form disappointing. Key To Target very disappointing since placed six runs back. Classy Flirt very good effort at second race start when placed here at 1200m. Aliento makes debut after 1000m trial win Monday. Stormy Sunset placed in recent 1000m trial, makes debut. Competitive Street exxpect improvement on last start run over 1500m. Better suited this trip.

Race Three: Lukaston two good efforts back from a spell and ready to win. King Before Dawn placed in recent trial and makes debut here. Ain't No Lady resumed with solid 1200m at Albany and well placed here. Salvado Street placed in recent trial and makes debut here.

Race Four: Tidal Storm overall is battling for best form but did win three runs back. He's Smokin not faraway at last few runs Esperance and suited here. Titcherman yet to strike form this time in, well back at Ascot last week. Lovely Lucy yet to show up in two runs back but should be ready to show best here. Western Zed fair effort first up and will strip fitter. Week Bix form solid and not disgraced Ascot last Saturday. Win overdue. Brunelleschi looked in need of the run first up.

Race Five: Mr Magnificent followed Esperance win with unplaced effort after racing wide. The Keillor Kid has struck form with two wins from last three. In form but not as prolific this track. Speedy Bohemian two good efforts at two runs back and ready to show best. Why So Blue is capable of better than last two efforts. Gotanygoss finished off strongly to win here 1200m. Up in class but shows ability. She's A Saint raced well here last season and resumes after good trial. Stockman's Dream very disappoiting last two but down in weight at a better suited trip. Cummings mixes form but on best form has prospects.


Race Six: Viscount Cameron fair effort first up but may need another start to reach peak. Sir Clase yet to hit form this time in but this trip suits and better suited. Timely Reign chased home Rock My Pago last Sunday and ideally suited here at this distance. Phorium placed Ascot three runs back and race hard for this. Cheval Rose big step in class on 2000m win last week, but was impressive. Movie World pay to forget run in city and go on previous form. Not raced for thirty four days a query, but has the ability. Trochee very diappointing last outing when beaten along way out.

Race Seven: Port Regis has had two runs back and should be ready to produce best form. Sir Onan found trip too far last start better suited here. Stormyglow distant third last Sunday over 1300m, this trip will suit. Alsaah Warrior resuming here and may need the outiong, but has won at the trip. Don't Tell Toby back from a let up and ran on well last Sunday. This distance more to his liking. Blazing Icon first try at the trip after racing in Sprints. Commandeer not far away at last two runs and won three times at the distance. Racso mixing form but ran on well last start 1300m. Good record at the trip. The Mighty Boosh broke through to win here 1500m after solid form. On The Double not fired at two runs after good Mt Barker win. King's Tribute good efforts at three runs back and now steps to a more suitable distance. Canny Besain struggling for best form but race hard. Megablitz two good efforts at two runs back and overdue for a win.

Race Eight: Albanyorascot good runs at last two when slow away. has ability but up in class and needs to jump on turns in this case from a very wide draw. Jazzy Saint won 1500m Maiden here before unplaced at Bunbury. From The Fire better effort last start when placed at Mt Barker. Up in class and first try at the trip. Chaddie pay to forget last run over 1300m. Suited here at the distance and in milder company. Dark Humour beaten favourite last week when slow away. capable of bouncing back. Street Darling this tougher than last start win at Esperance. Disco Reveller struggling for best form but this distance will help. Mctease forget last run over 1300m, far better suited here. Whittingham did not show up second up in solid company.
